Community Guidelines

Last updated July 6, 2026

Orbitry is a contemplative space. People come here to reflect, share thoughts, and meet themselves more honestly. The guidelines below exist to keep that possible.

What's welcome

  • Honest reflection, doubt, grief, joy, and unfinished thoughts.
  • Disagreement expressed with care.
  • Sharing your chart, dreams, and questions.
  • Encouragement and considered feedback.
  • Direct messages and Stories used to hold space, not to sell or pressure.
  • Mentioning another user (@name) when you're speaking to them, not about them.

What's not

  • Hate speech, harassment, or targeted attacks.
  • Sexual content involving minors — reported immediately.
  • Credible threats of violence, or encouragement of self-harm.
  • Doxxing or sharing others' private information.
  • Intimate or sexually explicit images or video of someone who didn't agree to have them shared — anywhere, including DMs, Sightings, and your profile gallery.
  • AI-made or edited images, audio, or video of a real person passed off as real, or made to embarrass, sexualize, or misrepresent them.
  • Spam, advertising, or off-topic promotional content.
  • Unsolicited DMs that are sexual, commercial, or pressuring.
  • Impersonating another user, a public figure, or Orbitry staff.
  • Using Resonance or Stories to target, shame, or coordinate pile-ons.
  • Posting AI-generated content as though it were another person's reflection.

Your tools

  • Follow / Unfollow — decide whose reflections show up in your feed. Following is public; unfollowing is silent.
  • Mute — hide a person's posts and replies from your feed silently. They aren't notified.
  • Hide — remove a single post from your feed without affecting anyone else's.
  • Block — prevent all interaction, including direct messages, mentions, and Resonance surfacing.
  • Report — send a post, reply, DM, or Story to moderators with a reason.
  • Turn off Resonance — opt out of being surfaced to others whose charts echo yours from your profile settings.
  • Notifications bell — one running feed of mentions, replies, DMs, sky nudges, and community pings; mute categories you don't want.

What happens after a report

Reports are reviewed by human moderators. Depending on severity, we may leave the content visible, hide it from public view, remove it, or restrict the account that posted it. Repeated violations lead to removal from the community.

Intimate images or altered depictions of a person shared without their consent are handled fastest: report it in the app or and we take it down within 48 hours of a valid request. If you think we got a decision wrong, you can appeal by email within 30 days and someone new reviews it.

Direct messages and Stories

DMs are between the people in the thread; treat them as private. Stories are visible to other signed-in users for a limited time. Sign Room threads and chat are visible to everyone in that room. The same guidelines apply everywhere; the surface changes, the tone doesn't.

A note on tone

The reflective spirit of Orbitry depends on you. Speak like the mirror is listening — because it is.
